Athena Mobile Skin & Wound Care provides care for residents who require essential wound care, skin cancer screening and treatment services for any skin concerns. We are a mobile wound care center. If you have a facility or homebound patient whose wounds are healing slowly, are infected or stalled we can help by bringing our wound care center and expertise to your patient and/or facility. Residents of Assisted living Homes and Nursing Homes are prone to skin conditions and ailments that require attention and/or treatment. We provide professional medical care while eliminating the need for transportation. We come to you.

Our services at Athena Plastic Surgery also benefit your facility, allowing you to offer more onsite services to attract prospective residents. Not only does it offer residents convenient options, but this is what accessible care is all about. Making it easier for residents and beneficial service for all. Our providers have years of experience treating and healing chronic, stalled and diabetic wounds. Through our wound management program, we offer immediate wound care with weekly visits to the patient’s home or facility resulting in reduced infection rates, faster healing times, decreased risk for amputation and reduced hospitalizations. We use state of the art wound care products at no cost to the facility or patient.

Our head office at Athena Plastic Surgery in Stuart, Florida can handle the communication with the patient, their family, power of attorney, home health agency or facility. Our providers can debride on-site, order DME as well as obtain and treat wound cultures. Additionally, we can write and sign home health agency orders the same day so you don’t have to. In addition to seeing residents for healthy skin checks, we have the ability to address any rashes, growths or skin concerns they may have. We also diagnose and treat pre-cancers, perform biopsies on site and treat certain positive skin cancers on site as well.

Technology

Telehealth involves the distribution of health-related services and information via electronic information and telecommunication technologies. It allows long distance patient/clinician contact and care, advice, reminders, education, intervention, monitoring and remote admissions.

We use cutting edge technology to provide telemedicine services to the patient at the bedside. If there is a question or issue that comes up requiring more advanced physician input the doctor is available through this channel.

Athena Mobile Skin & Wound Care can also provide distance-learning; meetings, supervision, and presentations between our providers, facility staff and patients through secure online electronic care. Our providers also are credentialed at local hospitals including Martin Memorial – Cleveland Clinic and Saint Lucie Medical Center.

Doctor Lipschitz is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 10 years experience, and currently serving Stuart, FL communities. He is the Medical Director Cleveland Clinic wound care center at Martin Memorial Hospital and Medical Directo of Athena Plastic Surgery and MedSpa. Doctor Lipschitz hand picks and trains providers including doctors, PAs, an Nurse Practitioners to provide the best quality care for the services providers by Athena Mobile Skin & Wound services.In the event the patient requires higher end level of care including hospitalization or clinic visits, there will be a seamless transition of quality care between facalty, office, wound center or hospital with doctors and mid-level providers at every level of the service.

Dr. MaiKhoi Pham has over 10 years of experience in podiatric medicine and surgery. She is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is also a board-certified wound specialist physician by the American Board of Wound Management. Dr. Pham’s extensive training and experience enable her to provide high-quality, personalized, and exceptional care to all patients. She provides comprehensive lower extremity care at Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital, Martin South Hospital, Tradition Hospital, David L. Smythe Wound Center, and Tradition Wound Center at Martin Health. She is very happy to join Athena Plastic Surgery to further serve the Treasure Coast community.

QUICK GUIDE TO COMMON SKIN CONDITIONS:

ACTINIC KERATOSIS: Usually, a scaly or crusty growth and most often appears on any areas of the body frequently exposed to the sun.
BASAL CELL CARCINOMA: A type of skin cancer that grows slowly but treatment is important because a Basal Cell Carcinoma can grow wide and deep, destroying skin tissue and bone.
SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA: Tends to develop on skin that has been exposed to the sun for years. Squamous Cell Carcinoma can spread to other parts of the body.
MELANOMA: Often resemble moles. If melanoma is recognized and treated early, it is almost always curable. If it is not treated, it can advance and spread to other parts of the body and can become fatal.
CELLULITIS: An inflammation of layers of the skin caused by bacteria. DERMATITIS: Swollen, reddened and itchy skin.
