The fight is real against lines, wrinkles and creases. It seems like there are an endless number of ways to take care of these problems, but do they all work? The answer is no, not all of the solutions you see on television and the internet work at taking care of lines and wrinkles on the face and elsewhere. But there are two solutions that actually do work. The first is Botox, and the second is dermal fillers.

The Truth about Botox

You’ve certainly heard about Botox. This treatment is amazing at taking care of wrinkles, and it’s especially good for those in their 20s and 30s to help stop the signs of wrinkles before they really start to make their mark.

As an added bonus, Botox has several other benefits that can treat a number of disorders. For example, if you struggle with excessive sweating, Botox is a proven treatment for this disorder. It also helps to treat pain in some people. Migraines and strong headaches can actually be lessened greatly by using Botox in the shoulders, neck and head. Finally, arthritis pain can also be aided with Botox as can overactive bladders in some people. When Botox is injected into the bladder, it expands the overall capacity, and the result is less constant need to go to the bathroom.

The Truth about Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are also injectable just like Botox, and like Botox, they are used to take care of many of the worst signs of aging. However, where Botox is injected into the muscle, fillers are injected into the tissue.

There are several different types of dermal fillers, including Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse and Sculptra. Many people use dermal fillers to help plump up lost tissue that happens over time as we age. Keep in mind that dermal fillers do not take care of actually relaxing the muscles the way that Botox does.

Can You Get Both Botox and Dermal Fillers?

Yes, you can get both Botox and dermal fillers to treat fine lines and wrinkles. In fact, when used in conjunction, these treatments work wonderfully together. Each one has different pros and cons, so together, they can do wonders for your complexion and skin tone. Botox takes care of facial muscles that are underneath the top layers of the skin while the dermal fillers smooth the wrinkles and creases and plump up your skin.
