No matter how much a person may work out, there are a number of areas throughout the body that are especially problematic when it comes to losing weight. Fat is often stored around the stomach and obliques and sometimes there is very little a man can do when it comes to targeting these areas. For anyone that would like to quickly improve their appearance and remove that extra layer of fat, it may be time to consider liposuction for men.

Areas of the Body

Many liposuction surgeries are carried out on the midsection, often the first area that men gain weight as they begin to age. This procedure is incredibly effective for the stores of fat in the torso, but it will also work practically anywhere that pockets of fat have begun to develop. In addition to their stomach, men often have liposuction for their chest, thighs, and even their neck. Liposuction can be carried out with any other number of cosmetic procedures ranging from body contouring and facelifts to bariatric surgery. With modern tools and techniques, these procedures can produce quick and dramatic results.

The Procedure

Liposuction is carried out under general anesthesia, and this means that the patient will be asleep for the entire thing. Depending on where the fat deposits are, one or more incisions will be made in order for a tube to be inserted into the body. This tube is then used to suck out the fat while the other soft tissue is repositioned. Once completed, the skin is sutured and the soft tissue is left to settle. These incisions are strategically placed to be as small as possible and are often completely imperceptible. In areas such as the torso and loin, the incisions are covered by almost all clothing including bathing suits.

The Ideal Candidate

The process of losing weight is often much more complex than simply working out more and eating less, and this is especially true for patients that are getting older. The body will often build pockets of fat around the midsection as a way to store extra energy. Other variables such as the individual’s hormones and their insulin levels will also affect how their body processes and stores food. The ideal candidate for this procedure is an adult male that is within 30 percent of their target weight and has good muscle structure. Patients must also have a comprehensive exam to ensure that they do not have any life-threatening illnesses or other medical conditions that will affect the surgery.

Liposuction for men is an excellent way to speed up the process of becoming healthier and happier. Within as little as six weeks, men will begin to notice a body transformation that could take years to accomplish otherwise. Liposuction is not only more effective than ever, it is also very safe and the patient could be back to work within as little as 3 to 7 days.
