What is the Pearl Fractional Laser?
The Pearl Fractional laser is a skin rejuvenation technique that combines Cutera’s Xeo Pearl Resurfacing and Pearl Fractional laser skin treatments into one convenient, powerful skin renewal procedure. This combination treatment is used for both full face and ablative resurfacing and can correct a wide range of skin imperfections. These include:
- Fine lines
- Mild to deep wrinkles
- Uneven skin texture
- Brown spots
- Sun spots
How Does it Work?
During a Pearl Fractional treatment, patients are administered treatment with both the Xeo Pearl Resurfacing and Pearl Fractional laser treatment heads. During the Pearl Resurfacing portion of treatment, laser energy is directed at the treatment area in a steady, focused stream. During the Pearl Fractional portion, laser energy is delivered to the deep layers of the skin in a series of columns. These columns allow for the treatment of a large area, while still leaving much of the skin unaffected by the laser energy.
Some of this laser energy is absorbed by the surface of the skin as heat, while the rest of it passes through the uppermost layer of the skin and is absorbed by its deeper dermal tissues. This heat stimulates the body’s natural healing process, triggering the growth of newer, healthier skin tissues and additional collagen proteins. Over time, this healing response results in beautiful, younger-looking skin.
