Rejuvenate Your Skin with 3DEEP Intensif Micro Needling

3DEEP Micro Needling

3DEEP Intensif Micro Needling is a technique for resurfacing skin. Micro Needling uses radio frequency (RF) to resurface skin and remove scars. Radio frequency works by heating the collagen in the dermis or middle layers of the skin. That heating causes the collagen to contract, thus tightening the skin. It also stimulates the production of more collagen. RF can penetrate more deeply into the skin than other technologies, and its efficacy is not affected by skin color. Nor does it affect skin color.

What does “3DEEP Intensif” mean?

“3DEEP” means “three dimensional,” and refers to the fact that RF Micro Needling goes deep into the skin to work; it does not just treat the surface of the skin.

“Intensif” is simply the make of micro needle used. A small handpiece delivers short pulses of RF energy through an array of 25 sterilized gold-plated microneedles. The doctor uses an extremely precise computer-controlled mechanism to inject the needles in exactly the right spot for treatment. Intensif enables the physician to control the energy level, depth of needle penetration, and pulse duration to get the best results for each patient.

The Intensif has been approved by the FDA. It can be used to treat stretch marks and cellulite as well as resurface skin.

Are there side effects?

Generally, no. After the procedure, the skin will be somewhat swollen and red, but that subsides after a day or two.

The doctor will apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment site 30 minutes before the procedure and leave it there until it’s time to start. The cream will keep things comfortable for the patient.

How long does the procedure take?

Micro Needling is one of those procedures sometimes described as a “lunchtime procedure.” It generally takes anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. Most patients need three to six treatments, and they are usually two to six weeks apart.

As it takes time for the dermal layers of the skin to work their way to the surface, the results of the treatment won’t be apparent for about three months. Micro Needling is a long-lasting treatment, and its effects can last five to ten years. That durability depends on the skin not sustaining any more damage. The patient, therefore, should not smoke and they should be careful about sun exposure. Micro Needling also does not stop the aging process.

Who should not undergo Micro Needling?

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not undergo Micro Needling. People with open wounds or skin infections in the treatment area need to wait for those conditions to fully heal. People with a history of hypertrophic or keloid scars or poor wound healing are also not good candidates for Micro Needling. Anybody who has had any kind of radiation therapy needs to wait at least a year. People who have taken Accutane need to wait at least three months.
