Rhinoplasty is one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures in the country, occasionally vying for the top spot normally held by breast augmentation. Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, can assist with both aesthetic and practical concerns, which account for much of their popularity. If you have concerns about the size or shape of your nose and are considering taking a permanent step to correct it, rhinoplasty may be just what you need.
A Customizable Procedure
It may surprise you how many people you know who have had rhinoplasties. The days of cookie-cutter Hollywood nose jobs have been over for at least a decade. When you meet with our surgeon, your goals will help shape and personalize the surgical plan. If you like the overall shape of your nose but think it’s too big, our surgeon will make every effort to retain the shape. If you like the size of your nose but want to remove a bump on the bridge, this can also be easily accomplished. While it’s possible to see dramatic changes with rhinoplasty, it’s also one of the subtlest procedures available. The results you receive will all depend on the goals you want to see.
Preparing for a Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is carried out at a hospital or an outpatient surgery center. Most patients will go home within 24 hours, escorted by another responsible adult. You will need to make arrangements with a friend or family member to take you home and help you for a few days until you can resume your activities alone. As long as you’re in good general health, there’s little you need to do to prepare.
Your Appearance After Surgery
Your new and improved appearance after rhinoplasty will begin to show itself gradually as you heal from the procedure. As you heal, you will get a better idea of how the end result will look. You can expect your results to be completely healed and final around the six-month mark.
If you aren’t happy with the size or shape of your nose, rhinoplasty can make permanent changes and give you the look you want.
